• Labor and time saving due to one sample preparation and no operator involvement in measurement phase
• Can measure most fibre types, including wool, cashmere, mohair, silk and many synthetic fibres.
• Measure length as well as hauteur and barbe
• For the first time, diameter vs. length can be automatically obtained (are long fibers broader than short fibers etc?)
• Determination of the content of coarse fibers, which cause the prickly feeling found in certain garments
• Can measure diameter of cut fibres in glass slides (emulate OFDA100) for measurement of non-aligned fibres
• Blends of different fibres can be measured accurately, which is not possible using capacitance based instruments.
• Can be purchased in modules: diameter only, length/hauteur only and upgrade later
• Research is continuing into other measurement modules. such as neps and dark fibre.
